| TAKES FIRST TOURNAMENT OF 2002 WITH 7.2 LBS | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Peter Weintraub won the last two tournaments of 2001! For the first event of 2002 Brian LLoyd and Peter each caught eleven fish on Saturday, but Peter wasn't entered, he volunteerd instead to help weigh fish from Ron Baker's official weigh in boat and got in a little "unofficial" fishing on the side. Meanwhile, Brian pulled in five spotties in the first 90 minutes and went on to win his first tournament after many tries. Brian has done a lot of practice fishing since his 26th place finish in the October tournament. On a regular basis, for the last two months, you could find Brian out on Mission Bay fishing 2 or 3 times each week. It goes to show that lots of time on the water means something. Brian, fishing from the new Hobie Mirage Outback, had a five best catch total of 7 pounds, 2 oz. and took the first place prize of a new Cobra Fishing kayak. click here for info. on the Hobie Mirage Outback Scott Palmer finished second with 5 pounds, 10 oz. and won a Humminbird VHF radio. (This is the second time that Scott has just missed winning the tournament by finishing in second place). Andrew Allen was third with 5 pounds, nine oz. and took home an OnO Lightweight epoxy kayak paddle. Fourth place went to Paul Weintraub with 4 pounds, 10 oz. and a camoflage MTI life vest, and in fifth place,( for the second time also), was Cynthia Weintraub with a total weight of 3 pounds, 14 oz. Cynthia won a Cobra kayak cart. |
